NOTES:
Originally, I thought 'Russei!' was a slur on 'rusetsu' ('groundless'), but Sarahsuke suggested that it's probably
a slur on 'urusai'- and now, it makes much more sense than it did initially. Many thanks to her for that.
I would've rather picked Ebisumaru for this conversation, but when I screencapped it awhile back, I chose
Goemon for the sake of balance, and I didn't feel like retaking all 30-something frames. Ah well.
'*Pinpon*' ピンポン is a chimey sound the 'certain kill weapon' control makes when Dynamites presses the
button, and on the screen, there's a music note behind it which I can't add in the font here. Also, with "!...Atta!"
the <3 after it indicates a heart in the game text there (in case it isn't obvious).
There seems to be a little pun here with Mujuu/Muchuu/Chuu (zero gravity, trance, and a kiss sound, respectively).
Mujuu(zero g) + Chuu(kiss) = Muchuu(trance)... where the Muchuujin(muchuu people, i.e. trance people) are
the creatures that attack Goemon by kissing him... in some sort of painful way. The writers for this series certainly
love playing with the language.
Also, I struggled with determining the meaning of 'omiseshiyou' おみせしよう for a good while. I have no idea if
"that you’ve been waiting for" (or more literally "that you want") is a workable translation for this or not.
